Princesses & A Puppy

In honor of the puppy loving Paisley and her 3rd Birthday the new characters to the WINNIE THE POOH series are donated to the museum - Blue Collar WINNIE THE POOH, DARBY and her puppy.BUSTER.
Since the little princess Paisley likes princesses so much the two latest additions to the DISNEY PRINCESS series is contributed to the Cornwall Collection - POCAHONTAS and MULAN as freestanding pieces.

A NEW PEZ FRONTIER

Look for Star Trek The Original Series promoted to come out September/October. It's an eight dispensers gift set of the original crew - Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, Uhura, Sulu, and Chekov + The Star Ship Enterprise NCC-1701. The Enterprise will be unique for Pez as it depicts a ’scene’ (a Pez first), where you see the ship emerging from a nebula cloud The set will have a limited run of only 250,000. Word is they are slated for Walmart & Target stores - one forum mentioned it was found in Bed Bath & Beyond (use a discount coupon).

OCC PEZ - FYI

An unusual PEZ set came out a few years ago - ORANGE COUNTY CHOPPERS. Other than Betsy Ross, Daniel Boone and Paul Revere issued in 1976 as part of a bicentennial set, this is a rare issue of an actual person(s) and the first (and only to date) of a living person(s). Some may have wondered who these characters are and why they were "honored" by PEZ. Orange County Choppers Inc. is in upstate New York and featured on a regular T.V. show American Chopper which debuted in 1999 on the Discovery Channel. It is a reality T.V. program in which custom motorcycles are designed and built. The show has recently made it's way in rerun on local channels.

The Orange County Choppers Gift Set was "limited" to 250,000 or 300,000 and features the stars of the show: Paul Sr., Paul Jr., and Mikey. This set is part of the Cornwall Collection as shown toward the end of the video "How It All Began".

With PEZ dropping the "no real persons" rule, OCC opened the doors for any number of "real life" dispensers--rock stars (ELVIS), actors, politicians, etc... Many feel OCC will always be one of the oddest sets ever issued by PEZ. But hey, that's one way to get a $100,000 motorcycle in your front lobby.

FAIRIES 08

For Mom's birthday and to celebrate the little girl in her, the new FAIRIES set is donated to the museum. These USA release characters are Silvermist, Tinkerbelle and Iridessa.
If you see fairies with pale blue skirts, those are the European release, with Iridessa replaced by the fair skin, auburn haired Fawn (see post of April 4).

RAH! RAH! COLLEGE FOOTBALL

Issued for the 2008 college football season are two new PEZ - VIRGINIA TECH and NORTH CAROLINA. (Now there are a couple of big college football teams aren't they?) Being the great college football fan that he is... nothing gets in the way of Grandpa getting to the weekly BYU game... it seemed fitting to have Grandpa receive these for his birthday and per family tradition immediately donate them back to the collection.
There are two appropriate reasons for Grandpa to receive the VT & NC PEZ today: 1) Virgina Tech and North Carolina play each other tomorrow/Saturday; and 2) There is a BYU connection... now follow this path... Virgina Tech and North Carolina are both in the ACC and play U of Virginia. U of Virginia played USC for the first game of the season. USC plays UCLA the last game of the season. UCLA got wolloped by BYU last Saturday. So you see... the BYU fan Grandpa deserves thePEZ today, the day between the day of his actual birthday and the day that VT & NC actually play.

And Mom thought it was silly to give Grandpa PEZ for one of his birthday gifts.

These join the current collection to give us a full dozen in the series.

This is new for 2008 - WASHINGTON football PEZ. The latest in the college football series. Word is that it is ONLY available in Washington State. Now let's see, who do we have that is handy to that northwestern most continental state?
p.s. The background photo is of the blocked PAT at the end of the 9/06/08 game. May be the closest BYU comes to loosing a game all year!?!

Madagascar- Escape 2 Africa

Hopefully we won't have to do as much running around to find MELMAN and SKIPPER as we did to find the original MADAGASCAR gang. (Remember they were only in movie theater refreshment stands... in Long Beach!). I expect these will be out around the release of the movie set for Nov. 7.

p.s. The new FAIRIES series (see PEZ WATCH post of April 4 & June 25, 2008) is issued with 2 tutu colors - WHITE & PURPLE. The Cornwall Collection needs both don't you think?

I came across these at Rite Aid while we were getting some "Meds" for Marybeth. I was surprised to call dad corn to find out that he hadn't found them yet. So I did not hesitate to pick these up. They are really cool.

BATTY BIRTHDAY

2008 BATMAN SERIES
This may seem, to some, to be a very unusual contribution to the PEZ Museum in honor of KATIE'S BIRTHDAY. Certainly Katie is NOT into the Dark Knight and has not seen any of the movies. Yet this IS the week that the new BATMAN is released... which is a looked forward to event by a number of individuals associated with the Cornwall Museum. So, now is the most appropriate time to add the 2008 BATMAN series to the collection

We went to iParty today to get some stuff for Caitlin for a YSA trip that she is taking, and there they were. I have done this sort of thing before and dad has beat me too it but I am hoping that that is not the case this time but we were excited when we saw it.

KUNG FU BIRTHDAY

An appropriate donation is made in honor of Jeff's birthday to the Cornwall PEZ museum of KUNG FU PANDA series. Mom, Dad, the girls and Jeffrey all went to see the movie on Jeff's recent visit to 336.

but they are a European release only. They are available on e-bay but with the movie being such a hit I would expect WALL-E & EVE to be in the US eventually. ( We don't want to do another SHREK.)

PEZ WATCH - 6/08

Two new NASCAR PEZ are just released.
DALE EARNHARDT JR. & CARL EDWARDS

DALE EARNHARDT was just released last year (on a red stem - see post of July 3, 2007). But that wiley Dale soon changed sponsorship to the 'National Guard' and 'Hendricks Motorsports' which are now printed on his black with special silver visor helmet.
CARL EDWARDS is new for 2008 - black stem, 'Office Depot' on the helmet.
After we got the Dale Earnhardt and Jimmie Johnson 2007 releases on Ebay they were seen and could have been obtained retail at Walmart. So keep your eyes out .

PEZ WATCH - 5/08

The new PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN set is supposed to out now.
Keep your land-lubber eyes pealed maties.
And remember to keep on the look-out for BRUCE THE PIXAR SHARK and FAIRIES . They should have been out for a couple of months.

JUNE BIRTHDAY GIFTS

In honor of the June Birthday couple, Jason and Stefanie, a donation of 3 Limited Edition PSYCHEDELIC EYEs have been made. These are a 'retro' edition of an old series. There are dozens of combinations of colors produced.

In honor of sweet Marybeth's birthday a new DOGS & CATS keychain series is donated to the Cornwall PEZ museum.

This is a rare set. We have not seen it promoted anywhere nor seen a single character on ebay. We just came across it at Cost Plus store a few weeks ago. You may notice that the characters are mini versions of the PEZ Furry Friends series of Dogs and Cats already in the collection.

TAKE ME OUT TO THE PEZ GAME...

What do you think family? This year PEZ has started a MAJOR LEAGE BASEBALL Series.

We do currently have a generic baseball - see below.

So we have a BASEBALL PEZ in the collection. Do we want/need these first 11 of a series which could possibly grow to include all 30 MLB teams? It's really just a lot of the same PEZ with a different printed logo. Or shall we just get LA and Boston?

RACE TO A HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Every 16 year old hopes for a new car on their birthday. So as not to disappoint our last 16 year old from 336, Sarah gets a new spezcial edition Daytona 500 race car.
This car will join the other Nascar racers in the pull-n-go series. It is a companion to the Daytona 500 helmet and hauler recently added to the collection (see Robbie's birthday).
One of the funnest things is to find a PEZ that you never knew existed. We have never seen this in any collection, on e-bay or anywhere before we walked into the Duarte Wal-mart and there it was... the only one in the whole display of dozens of cars.

ELIZABETH IS #1

On behalf of Elizabeth's special No. 1 Birthday the DISNEY PRINCESS SET is donated to the CORNWALL PEZ MUSEUM. This will certainly be a treasured part of the collection. Now MULAN and POCAHANTAS join the other top line Disney Stars. Happy Birthday Miss Elizabeth
